The company was founded in 1978 and was the first independent golf high street retail outlet in the North West of England. A family business which grew from strength to strength, realising that golf was not just a sport for the privileged during the late 1970s and through the 1980s. In 1984 the site of the business changed due to the growth of the golf retail business which saw Greg Nicholson Golf at the forefront, stocking all the latest equipment & clothing that golf had to offer. In 1989 the site of the premises was extended to make the store cope with the ever expanding golf trade. Also Greg thought that it was in the customers' best interests to have an up-to-date custom-fit swing room to ensure customers got clubs fitted to their own personal specification.
